Visit Rancho del Oso This Summer

Wanna bring your family to a camping trip? Then why not visit Rancho del Oso this summer?

Rancho del Oso is the coastal outpost for Big Basin Redwoods — California's oldest State Park. It is located along Highway 1 south of Año Nuevo State Reserve, just south of the San Mateo/Santa Cruz county line.

Here are a few reasons why Rancho del Oso is worth visiting now:

Bike and Hike

The California Conservation Corps recently installed three temporary bridges over Waddell Creek which reopens the best bike-and-hike trail in the Bay Area: from Rancho del Oso to Big Basin's spectacular waterfalls (Berry Creek Falls, Silver Fall and the Golden Cascade).

Camps are open

After being closed this November… Sunset, Lane, Alder and Twin Redwoods have just re-opened. These trail camps provide some of the best overnight treks in the region. Best for summer trips in the mountains, don't you think?
