Filed in archive News on May 5, 2007
United Airlines has increased its fares of flights favored by business travelers by up to $50. The increase took effect on the 2nd of May affected the full premium and economy cabin one-way fares by $25-$50. One way flights up to 1,500 miles got a $5 increase and and fares on flights more than 1,500 miles limit got a $10 increase.
united and other airlines have been battered by low-fare competition, fare increases in the past year have helped most embattled airlines to increase their revenues and profits. Although some experts doubt that this trend would last longer, considering the evidence of consumer resistance to higher fares.
United's rivals have yet to match the increase.
