Planning a relaxing vacation to Hawaii's Island any time soon? If so, consider staying at the Hilton, a beautiful oceanfront property set across 62 acres.

I recently spent a few days at this resort and found it to be a worthwhile experience. It's the kind of place that has something for every kind of leisure traveler. For honeymooners, there are plenty of isolated spots with secluded cabanas and hammocks to disappear to and watch the glowing sunset, as well as a range of intimate dining options that include the romantic Italian restaurant Donatoni's. A luxurious spa adds to the many relaxation options.

For families with young children, the resort is no less than a mini theme park. There are trams and boats to transport you from one spot to another (the property is so big, these are crucial to get around), numerous swimming pools and water slides, as well as a snorkeling lagoon where you can spot different types of marine life. A major attraction of the resort is the Dolphin Quest Learning Lagoon, which draws adults as well as kids to swim and interact with the dolphins.

When guests check in at the guest center and pick up a free gift (a tote bag that came in handy), they are informed about the Hilton Grand Vacations Club presentation. This was something I chose to attend with my partner one morning. It's a good way to see what's out there in terms of vacation ownership options, and if you choose not to sign up for this you still leave with a gift that you can avail immediately. We opted to receive 100 hilton dollars for our time, which consisted of certificates that can be redeemed at the resort's shops and restaurants. A great way to 'spend' some free money provided you have a couple of hours to spare for the presentation!

There is so much to do on the resort itself that it is worth just spending a couple of days on the property.

A stay at the Hilton Waikoloa Village will definitely leave you with a taste of the Aloha way of life without needing to drive out and see the Big
Island.
