The Armchair Diplomat on Europe
Filed in archive Armchair Traveler , European insider on October 7, 2005

Curious about Europe and the Europeans? Have you checked out the official website of the EU and thought you were reading swahili? Do you want Eurocratese in plain English that normal people can understand?
I have something which could be interesting for you... The Armchair Diplomat on Europe by Melissa Rossi
You get insights into European culture - why they behave the way they do, why things are run the way they are being run and some history which made me nod and exclaim "so that's why!" several times. Everything is explained simply and you wouldn't even have to fall asleep like you did whenever it was time to read about history. It's informative, funny and... well, just go get the book and read it!
Like what the backcover says, "it's perfect for slackers with a passion for travel". Although, do keep in mind that one must not mistake everything that is written as textbook info. There are quite a few discrepancies.
Just go get it and enjoy!
