Switzerland invites Football Widows

World Cup this, World Cup that! Everywhere I look in Frankfurt, I see signs of activity as people rush to improve and beautify the whole city for the World Cup 2006. And when you'd rather stare at inanimate objects to rest your eyes from all the construction work going on, you'd be staring at Ballack's face advertising a well-known product. Or, you'd be faced with a poster of WM2006. Home wouldn't be a place to shun all those, either. My husband would either be talking about it or, I'd be seeing yet even more reportage or advertisments on TV.

Imagine how it would be in June?! I can look forward to traffic jams to and from work, limited parking spaces in my neighborhood and even more people talking about the World Cup. Can you hear the exasperation in my voice?!

Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against the World Cup. I am glad that Germany is hosting it, actually. Just that the months leading to it seems to be taking forever.

If you feel like I do, we do have one option... We can all head off to Switzerland and take part in the Alternative Ladies' Programme during the World Cup.

Here's a link to that famous video full of Alpine beefcakes promoting the program to LURE women away from the World Cup frenzy and their fanatic husbands.
