Summit County in the Summer

I came for the winters and stayed for the summers. That's what Summit County locals say when they explain why they moved to this area. If you're looking for a summer vacation destination that combines the great outdoors, the arts and culture, look no further than this scenic and exciting area of Colorado.
Summit County is comprised of Breckenridge, Keystone, Dillon, Frisco, Copper Mountain and Silverthorne. The fact that most people consider this a ski and snowboard destination is good news for the budget traveler. Come summer, prices on lodging drop dramatically. But that's not the only good news. Summer temperatures in Summit County average 70 degrees, and there is no such thing as humidity. Popular activities include hiking, fishing, camping and cultural events.
The Breckenridge Heritage Alliance features free museum tours, and walking and mining tours for a nominal fee. Visit during June 14 and 15, and participate in the historic Kingdom of Breckenridge event.
Admission is free!
The Backstage Theatre has an exciting summer repertoire. There are free concerts at the Lake Dillon Marina, and orchestral performances at the Riverwalk Theatre.
As if this was not enough, a look at the exciting activities in Keystone!
