Sounds for Sights

You can walk around with your name tag pinned to your shirt as you (and several other tourists) try to listen and follow your flag-toting tour guide. Another option would be to manage that big map and that lonelyplanet guide book as you maneuver your way around town.

Or… you can independently make your way around town with no map nor guidebook. All you need is an iPOD (or any other mp3 player) that "keeps your hands free" and lets you "explore at your own pace without the hassle of waiting for groups"…

Sounds for Sights offers "downloadable, self-guided audio walking tours for sights and cities around the world for $4.99. At present, they have tours around New York. Slowly but surely, they are expanding to include other destinations.

For those with iPOD Photos, there's yet another nifty travel accessory worth checking out. iSubwayMaps.com offers downloadable subway maps. There's a subway map for Berlin, SF, NY and Paris, among others. And best of all, it's being offered for FREE.

What are you waiting for?! Download 'em now!
