Songkran, Thailand

I realize that since we've been back from Thailand for weeks, this post might be a bit after the fact. However, while looking through my photos, I had to share this with you! Songkran is Thailand's New Year celebration. It usually falls some time in April, which is the hottest time of the year. As such, nobody, including the tourists, gets too bent of shape about the Thai Songkran tradition of squirting by passers with huge water guns. The throwing of water is done to wash away bad luck. In Thailand, this bad luck may include avoiding heat stroke!
