Sky Hotel in Aspen

When I go on snowboarding vacations, I prefer staying at ski huts/lodge. To live right where the slopes are, is my idea of how winter vacations should be. Since I am not really into apr�s ski parties, I am willing to give-up being right where the party scene is. It also sometimes means giving up a few more luxuries.

All along, I thought that "ski in, ski out" accommodations meant being away from it all.

Until I saw this hotel...

The Sky Hotel in Aspen, Colorado is located right at the base of Ajax. This Kimpton boutique hotel is a lot like any old, rustic ski lodge... except that it's chic and hip!

The wooden accoutrements compliment the fanciful furnishings. Guests are welcomed by friendly hotel staff and are even given complimentary "Altitude Adjustment" evening wine reception at the lobby. It's obvious that convenience was given priority. There's an onsite ski shop, for those who may have forgotten something; ski lifts are only a few steps away; and there's wi-fi for those who needs to go online.
