Weekend Getaways

Are you one of those who leaf through the pages of the National Geographic with your mouth hanging open? Have you ever wondered how it would be to go on a Safari to Africa but you keep on wondering because you'd rather spend your vacation and hard-earned money laying on the beach, getting a tan? Are you one of those who'd rather not sacrifice the comforts of home when going on vacation?
If you want to experience life in the wilderness but would rather not be inconvenienced with tents or, horror of horrors, sleeping under the stars, there's a compromise that could be found at SafariWest.
"The spirit of Africa in the heart of Wine Country... nestled on 400 acres in the heart of California's wine country, Safari West is home for over 400 exotic mammals and birds. Not a zoo, not a drive-through park, it's a wildlife preserve where the whole family can experience some of nature's most beautiful animals in a natural habitat."
The best way to visit is to spend the night, so you can hear the nightly serenade, the likes of which you've never heard outside of an African savannah.
For the complete African experience, stay overnight in a luxurious safari tent. From the deck of each cabin, guests can take in the view of grazing giraffes or enjoy the serenity of the private lake. Each tent is outfitted with hardwood floors, queen and king-size beds, plump pillows and cozy comforters, heaters, full bathrooms and spacious verandas.
Choice from one king size bed, king size bed with double size bunk bed, or two double beds. Ensuite bathroom with shower. Outdoor sitting area.
$225.00 a night for two people, each extra person $25.
Or, you can also run like a cheetah and avail of their special monthly rates. Check it out!
