Royal Gorge Colorado

Royal Gorge Colorado

Going to the beach and touring around famous sites too hohummm for your taste? If you'd rather walk on the wildside this summer, you might want to consider heading off to Royal Gorge Colorado.

The Royal Rush Skycoaster will strap you into a giant tower so you could swing out over the 1,200-foot drop into the Royal Gorge canyon, letting you free-fall at up to 50 miles per hour. It's a lot like bungee jumping and roller coaster ride rolled into one, just more exciting and dangerous.

After that exhilirating (or scary, depends on who is looking) ride, you can sit back and relax at Bighorn Mountaintop Lodge; exchange stories with those who had the same Adrenaline Rush free-falling earlier in the day during your luxurious stay at this rustic spacious lodge. Bighorn Mountaintop Lodge has a rustic fireplace, 3 charming bedrooms, two baths and a spacious kitchen.

Want more excitement for Day #2? Head on out and brave the elements by going on a rafting adventure on the Arkansas River.

Still want more? There are tons of other activities around the Royal Gorge Region which you could indulge in: Mountain Biking, Hiking, Horseback Riding and more.

Now, are those activities adventurous enough for your summer getaway?!
