Print Flyers When You Volunteer

A friend of mine (Bob) is a chemical engineer (undergraduate work at Clemson) and he had some vacation time coming. So he decided to spend his summer volunteering in the Gulf of Mexico to help with clean up from the Gulf oil spill.
You see daily updates about the beaches. A lot of marshland has been affected. But one concern you don't hear much about is whether oil from the spill is seaping into inland water tables and contaminating drinking water. My friend decided to volunteer to be part of a team that will check ground water wells from the Florida Panhandle to the Louisiana-Mississippi state line.
Bob teamed up with a local community agency that is sponsoring his trip. He decided to print flyers that were designed to raise a little money and hel the agency defer some of the costs involved in sending him down there. And as luck would have it, his boss found one of the flyers. The company called him in and asked him if he'd like to spend a month in the Gulf. They told him they'd double his vacation time.
On top of that, a wealthier member of the community called him and offered him the use of a condo in Pensacola during his time down there. So now his wife and kids are going down with him And since he gets weekends off, they'll have a good vacation together even though he's volunteering. Publicity (and good flyer printing services) can often make life sweeter.
