Planning Your Road Trip
Filed in archive Accessories on April 27, 2007
In order for your roadtrip to go well, you need to plan every move you will be making with your RV or camper during the whole trip. You need to plot your route, know where you will be stopping, calculate your gas consumption and figure out which places you would like to visit.
Planning your road trip right will ensure that you will stay within your projected budget.
If you prefer the old school way of plotting your intended destination, rather than buying maps for places which you may later decide not to vist, you can just print a free road map from milebymile. US, Mexico and Canada are well mapped.
You can also check out Rand McNally's online Tripmaker Planning Tool. It even allows you to choose routes based on your requirements: activities you want to indulge in, attractions you want to see, etc. It even has a widget from Kayak to help you look for places to stay. And you get to check road constructions and weather which might cause you delay, giving fair warning to find alternate routes.
Drive safely!
