Part 2 - BUDGET TRANSPORTATION AROUND MUNICH
Munich has a relatively easy public transportation system. As long as you do not change directions, you only need one ticket to use the S-bahn, U-bahn, bus and tram. Note, though, that there is a time limit and tickets are sold depending on the zones you pass through.
Should you plan on exploring Munich for the whole day with many destinations, it would be cheaper if you buy a one-day pass or Tageskarte. This ticket allows you unlimited travel for the whole day. Check out the MVV fares here.
Another alternative would be to call or rent a bike. Unless, of course, you plan on drinking a lot during the fest then it might be best to use public transportation.
CHEAPEST OPTION: Of course, nothing beats walking. All you need is a good pair of shoes and a map. A great option for those who are lucky enough to get a hostel near one of the Oktoberfest tents.
