Offbeat Tourist Attractions

When planning to go sightseeing, most tourists go for that famous hotspot. It's that place where every other tourist has decided to visit. Think Eiffel Tower, the Washington Monument, the Louvre, etc. Whatever their reasons are – due to pictures seen, books read, stories heard – these tourists flock to these places, are awed and then plan to visit more interesting (read: famous) spots in the future.

And then, there are those who would rather be surprised. This adventurous and funny lot has the taste for the offbeat. They'd rather go see something odd.

Should you be one of those *cough* oddballs *cough* then perhaps, you might want to head for North Dakota this spring or summer and be wowed by the World's Largest Cow. Salem Sue stands 38 feet high and 50 feet long, "poised regally over the verdant fields of North Dakota."

Bovine Crazy? Check out all the other travel oddities that features cows in other States.

And since it has already been established that there is no accounting for taste, you should probably just check Roadside America, Your Online Guide to Offbeat Tourist Attractions.
