For the past 26 years, 9 museums along Fifth Avenue in New York opens their doors for free. New Yorkers and visitors alike can enjoy traffic-free, music- and art-filled celebration on the street of Fifth avenue from 82nd to 105th street, which has been officially touted as the Museum Mile.
Now, wouldn't you want to be in New York when Fifth Avenue is closed to traffic and is transformed into a strollers' haven?
El Museo del Barrio, Museum of the City of New York, the Jewish Museum, Copper Hewitt/National Design Museum/Smithsonian Institution, National Academy Museum and School of Fine Arts, the Guggenheim Museum, Neue Galerie New York , Goethe Institut and, of course, the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
