New York City on a Budget

I spent most of my life living in the heart of New York City. While I am now quite happy with my lifestyle in the Colorado Rockies, I still believe that at least once in a lifetime, everyone should pay a visit to the Big Apple. That said, the term "budget New York City" is almost an oxymoron. However, the good news is that there are many activities that can be enjoyed at no cost.

New York is a walker's paradise. While there are many places to explore by foot, my favorite is the Upper West Side of Manhattan. However, I do admit to a prejudice: I lived on the West Side for over 20 years. Check out this article about Upper West Side Attractions.

While walking is free, you will need a place to sleep. Fortunately, the About.com Guide has an excellent list of Cheap New York City Hotels.

Come be a part of it: New York, New York
