New trend in Paris: the subway sandwich
Filed in archive on July 11, 2006
After decades of domination and dictatorship of baguettes with ham and cheese and over expensive restaurants, Parisians are now being introduced to a whole new sandwich world, the subway.
And it's not just the Parisians, mostly students, in search of variety and choice and good prices, tourists and homesick American expat stop me every week to ask me "where did you get that sub?" This is something I can relate to actually. Every time I visit a new city, I do love to experience and get a glimpse of another culture, and that always includes food. But once in a while I love to take comfort from familiar territory and I eventually have lunch in a Korean restaurant.
"Subway" is located near the Cathedral of Notre-Dame on quai Montebello (you can get there by taking the metro Line 4 Saint-Michel stop or RER B or C Saint-Michel Notre Dame stop or the bus line 24 or 47 Notre-Dame quai Montebello stop).
