Museums in New York

Budget Travel New York Series, Part 2

Traveling to New York City may seem like it would make a big dent in your budget. It could but there are ways to discover the city without having to spend Junior's college fund.

Last week, we talked about Cheap Eats in New York. This week, we'll talk about entertainment possibilities that this city has to offer like, Museums.

No one goes to New York without visiting at least the Metropolitan Museum of Art. But, why stop there? Your hunger for culture can be fed by a whole lot more of museums… on a budget.

Some museums in New York have "suggested donation" policies wherein you can pay whatever amount you might like and there are those which offer discounted entrance fees. And then, there are those which offers museum entrance for FREE on certain time and days.

NewYorkology made a round-up of all these NY musuems. A great list which you should print out prior to your trip so you know where to go on which days in order to keep your budget down while you romp around New York City.

It’s a nice idea, making that list. I personally find it very usefull. I think that kind of information should be included in turistic guides. You can imagine that there are just a few people who know about the list.
