Cheap Ride
by Melissa Petri on October 1, 2006

At least, that is what several people have opted to do when the recent threat occured and when the travel restrictions were imposed.
Now that some of the restrictions have been lifted, there are still those who still would rather take the bus, one of the best alternatives.
Not only that... it's the cheaper option, too!
For those who are traveling routes between Chicago and Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and St. Louis, you may want to try out Megabus, the low cost intercity bus service.
Yup, Megabus is low-cost & no-frills. The RyanAir of bus service. Imagine, fares start at $1 each way, plus a 50-cent reservation fee. Three or four $1 seats can be reserved for each trip. The remaining seats can range from $9-27. The earlier you book, the cheaper it will be.
For each trip, three or four $1 seats are reserved, and the remaining seats can range from $9 to $27. In other words, you'll have to book early to get the super-cheap fares. You can book as early as 45 days in advance.
Not a bad deal, eh?
