Lake Of The Ozarks: A Hiking Paradise

A large reservoir created by impounding the Osage River – Lake of the Ozarks – is located in the northern part of the Ozarks in central Missouri. With its waterfront bars, crowds and traffic on both water and land, this giant reservoir can get crowded in the summer.
However, the surrounding of the lake are composed of various hiking trails showcasing the rugged Ozarks landscape — making it a new hiking paradise.
The Lake of the Ozarks State Park is the largest State Park in Missouri. Jim Divincen was hiking the Lake of the Ozarks recently and he wrote:
"I always love hiking up to this overlook. It's so peaceful. Sometimes, all you'll hear is the wind. And you can see for miles. We're up here above the treeline, and the view is just unbelievable.
I don't think a lot of people realize the hiking opportunities we have here at the lake. It would be hard to imagine many areas that have more trails than we do. And they lead you to some beautiful areas. It's hard to get on a trail that's not picturesque."
Have you ever hiked the Laze Of The Ozarks? How was it?
