Lake Como in Italy
Filed in archive where the celebs go by Melissa Petri on January 30, 2006

We've all seen pictures and heard about George Clooney falling in love with Italy. George must have liked the place so much that he even bought properties and is maintaining a villa (Villa Oleandra) at a place called Laglio by Lake Como.
If you are a Clooney *cough-crazy-cough* fan then, this little fact would probably be enough reason for you to hie it off to Lake Como for some celebrity sighting. After all, he does bring his celeb friends to Italy with him, from time to time.
However, note that Lake Como, which is only 40km away from the fashion center of Milan, has a lot to offer. I mean, Clooney would not have fallen in love with the place if it was a dump, would he?
Lake Como is where the wealthy Milanese and Lombardians go in the weekends to escape the city. The view (with the pre-Alps
as the background) is breath-taking. "Azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias make for a stunning display in March and there's no shortage of things to do most of the year round - water-skiing, sailing, windsurfing, hiking, cycling...or simply soaking up the sun. Although Lake Como is moments from the Swiss border, the climate is mild and sunny, and in parts sub-tropical - complete with palm trees, olive trees, citrus trees and bougainvillaea." >>
Check out Holiday Italia for the nitty gritty of taking that trip to Lago di Como in Italy.
