Getting Around London

Although I put this in the "cheap ride" category, just as there is no such as thing as a free lunch, in London, the idea of a cheap ride in London is an oxymoron. That said, public transport is plentiful in London, and it is by far the cheapest way to get around.

If your plane arrives at Heathrow Airport , the London Underground has train service to city center. Supposedly trip times are about 50-60 minutes. While things might have changed, when I took the Underground many years ago, 50 to 60 minutes was a highly optimistic estimation. In fact, we arrived in London after the the Tube had closed, so my brother and I had to take a taxi to our hotel in Earl's Court.

A more expensive, yet more efficient option is the Heathrow Express. You can find Heathrow Express discounts by performing a google search for Heathrow Express Discount Codes. Once you get to London's Paddington Station, you will need to switch to the Underground to get to your destination. Writer Jayden Harlow has written a comprehensive article about using the London Underground.

A nice entry, but very old. London Underground is much faster than that. Heathrow Express is as fast as a bullet. Taxis can take you anywhere in London in around an a hour. Minicab taxis are the affordable taxi option in London, try http://www.minicabs4less.co.uk
