Getting Around Hotel Internet Fees

I find it hard to live without Internet access. In some ways, it's more important than food_ it's just essential – my connection to the outside world and my link to home. So when I go to a hotel that offers me free breakfast and even an open bar – but they want ten or twelve bucks for Internet access in your room, it confuses me and ticks me off. After all, why offer me luxuries but skip the essentials…?

Travel Post has some suggestions for how to solve the problem. The obvious answer is to make sure you have in-room Internet access when you make your reservation. But if you can't do that, try negotiating… ("I'm not going to use the open bar; can't I get Internet access instead?).
