OpenTable

OpenTable allows the user to make reservations at more than 13,000 restaurants in the U.S., Canada, and abroad. You can also read diner reviews and view menus.

Where is an all-encompassing local-area search engine, perfect for travelers just getting used to a new destination. However, this app is only for U.S. cities.

Yelp

Yelp is a one-stop shop for reviews of just about everything: restaurants, museums, beaches, salons, dentists, pharmacists, etc.

TripAdvisor

Urbanspoon is the perfect app for adventurous eaters. Urbanspoon recommends a restaurant anywhere and are rated by Urbanspoon users. For iPhone and Android only.

MetrO

MetrO covers some 400 cities and can plot routes for you and shows your location on a map so you can see what's nearby.
