So here's the top 10 travel apps for your mobile phone that's 100% free:
OpenTable
OpenTable allows the user to make reservations at more than 13,000 restaurants in the U.S., Canada, and abroad. You can also read diner reviews and view menus.
Where
Where is an all-encompassing local-area search engine, perfect for travelers just getting used to a new destination. However, this app is only for U.S. cities.
Yelp
Yelp is a one-stop shop for reviews of just about everything: restaurants, museums, beaches, salons, dentists, pharmacists, etc.
TripAdvisor
TripAdvisor has 35 million (and counting) hotel reviews and with the app you can have all that in your pocket. But it's for the iPhone only.
GateGuru
GateGuru helps your prepare for the long waits in airports in between your flight. While it allows you to get the lowest of low fares, the app comes with maps of 86 airports in the US, 12 in Canada, and London's Heathrow. It shows you what's available in each terminal and where you can find it. Again, this app if for the iPhone only.
USA TODAY AutoPilot
AutoPilot lets you store all the information for your trips-flight, hotel or car reservations-and then gives you updates on flight status and weather for your destination. For iPhone only.
Urbanspoon
Urbanspoon is the perfect app for adventurous eaters. Urbanspoon recommends a restaurant anywhere and are rated by Urbanspoon users. For iPhone and Android only.
MetrO
MetrO covers some 400 cities and can plot routes for you and shows your location on a map so you can see what's nearby.

Online travel agencies (OTAs) such as Expedia, Travelocity, and Hotels.com also have apps.
UpNext 3-D Maps
