Free Entrance to U.S. National Parks on Weekends

If you hadn't noticed it yet, U.S. National Parks have waived thier fees for people who visit the parks on some weekends this summer. The weekends when visiting the parks is free are:

  • June 20 and 21
  • July 18 and 19
  • August 15 and 16

That will save you between $3 and $25 per person (or vehicle) depending on the park you visit.

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced the initiative earlier this month.

"National parks also serve as powerful economic engines for local communities, and we hope that promoting visitation will give a small shot in the arm to businesses in the area," Salazar said.
