Food in Trains

Train travel may lack the speed of air travel and the flexibility traveling by car gives but it does have its advantages.

  • In other countries, it is the most inexpensive way to travel. In some, if you book early enough or if you take advantage of rail pass offers, it could also be inexpensive.
  • Since it is mostly on ground level, you will see more of the countryside.
  • You can read. If you get bored, you can try talking to fellow passengers. If you get restless, you can actually walk around. If you get tired, you can sleep.

Long distance trains have, of course, toilets on board. Some are now even equipped with WiFi and sockets for your gadgets.

Now, if you get hungry while you are on-board, you can either self-cater (buy food at the grocery before embarking) or you can check out what the ob-board food service is serving/selling to passengers.

If you are particular about your food while you travel, make sure that you check out what they will be serving on the route that you will be taking. Believe me, the variety is endless. Take a look…
