Flying With Your Pet...Don't Forget His Petmeds
Filed in archive Did you know on March 7, 2010
Going on a long trip on an airplane and taking your fido or feline along? There are some things you're going to need to know first before you even get to the airport. First of all, some airlines are more pet-friendly than others. Check with the airline to see what their regulations regarding pet travel are before booking your flight.
You may have to get a certificate from your vet in order to travel with him. You also may need to purchase a specific type of crate to bring him on the plane with, although some airlines will provide these for you. Do they require food and water bowls or do they not allow them? You may not be able to travel at all times of the year with your pet on all airlines.
One of the most important things to remember before leaving for your trip is to make sure your pet has been given all his Petmeds including his Sentinel. The Sentinel will help keep him from getting flea and worms from the other pets while he travels. Sometimes a sedative is also needed for high energy pets.
