Well, some do borrow from friends or family whereas others just buy the disposable type.

Thanks to Linatree, you can actually make one!!! They have made the first downloadable pinhole camera which you can print out, cut and assemble.

You can use a PAN film from Ilford or Neopan 100 from Fuji. You can also use any 35 mm film."
Isn't that great? Truly a cheaper option.
