In case you find yourself waiting in the airport due to uncontrollable circumstances, a discounted room in a hotel could relieve you of your stress.According to Smarter Travel, you can get a discounted rate in hotels if you request a "distressed traveler rate". The reason behind this is that
Typically, airlines contract a certain number of hotel rooms for personnel and stranded travelers, and properties offer overnight rates at a discount. These hotels are often near the airport, so you can easily get back to make your rescheduled flight.
A decent "distressed traveler rate" would cost $100 or less.
So instead of waiting in packed airports, go and de-stress yourself in hotels using the "distressed traveler rate".
