From Bangkok, you can take a train ride to Ayutthaya.
A 3rd class seat costs about 50 cents for a 76km ride. The trip takes about two hours. A visit to the ancient kingdom of Ayutthaya is a journey back in time. It was founded in 1350, and destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century.
