Colombia: Booming Gay Vacation Destination

Just 3 hours away from Miami, Florida…Colombia is turning into a popular vacation destination for gays.

According to the Miami Herald: "Colombia is now just behind Brazil and Argentina on the South American travel 'gaydar'."

One of the reasons why is the fairly strong gay scene and progressive homosexual rights laws in Colombia. Of course, that's on top of the great shopping, beautiful beaches and an awesome fashion scene.

Colombia (officially the Republic of Colombia) is bordered to the east by Venezuela and Brazil, to the south by Ecuador and Peru, to the north by Panama and the Caribbean Sea and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. Part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, Colombia is dominated by the Andes mountains.

Bogota – the largest city in Colombia and home to the country's largest gay scene – is well established as a travel destination.

I agree with the fact that Colombia is getting more attractive to gay travellers and totally agree with that Colombia has a huge gay travel potential.. But the present picture is rather bleak: not many gays will book their next trip to Colombia, especially because of macho culture and high criminal rate in the country.

    Nice Article!

good to hear that there are lots of gay vacation places today, or simply places where LGBT are welcomed very much. And one(1) of those places is Hawaii. Actually, we’ve been there for a gay vacation, a retreat themed “gay travel hawaii“. She said it was great there, so why not give a try? :)
