Choosing a Budget Airline in Europe

Due to the demand for cheap flights, we have seen the rise in number of low cost airlines. They now permeat the European sky. With different budget airlines plying the same routes, offering basically the same conditions and prices, travellers are confused which ones are actually better.

Now, if price and/or schedule are your main considerations, then it would be best to shop (tip: use an aggregator) around based on your intended date of departure. That way, you get the best deal for that specific time. One specific airline does not always offer the cheapest deal. It always depends where, when and how far in advance you are booking.

However, if you would rather check which budget airline has been singled out by award-giving bodies then, I suggest for you to check out AirBerlin.

AirBerlin welcomed 2006 by cinching the Low Cost Airline Service Excellence Award from Skytrax. In addition, it was the only low-cost airline to be given the score 0.00 in the Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Center (JACDEC) survey.

Service and Safety sure counts a lot in my book.

Air Berlin, the second largest German airline (after Lufthansa), flies to the most popular holiday destinations on the Mediterranean coast, in the Canary Islands and in North Africa as well as major European cities.

Now, would those results convince you?
