If you are an independent traveler, chances are, you have to arrange transportation within the continent yourself. If you do not have money to burn or if you are unable to book/find cheap airfares, I have another option for those who are on a budget and those who simply prefer going around by car--without having to rent one... SHARE A CAR!
"This aplication enables you to make contacts for one-off journeys (holidays, business trips, attending conferences, etc.) as well as regular journeys or commuting (going to work or the university campus or any particular place in any town or city, for example). This service is intended for people who want to travel in a more economical way, respecting the environment, saving energy and widening their contacts and friends, as well as enjoying the simple pleasure of a shared adventure."
