Where: Nepal
Why: It's home to the Himalayas. Cultural and Natural wonders await you.
When: Best in Spring time
Travelers are also encouraged to bring along strong calves and an adventurous spirit. Both may be needed during the whole duration of your stay in Nepal.
Travelers are also advised to bring their passport (duh!) and purchase -- yup, you need to pay for it -- a visa at the embassy or at entry points upon arrival. If you are crossing the border from China or Tibet, though, it may be best to get a visa from the embassy prior to your trip.
Travelers who are on tight budgets would be glad to know that... "A budget traveler can live well in Nepal on about 15 dollars a day. Budget accommodations for a single or double room in Nepal run from around US$5.00-8.00 (100 NPR to around 250 NPR). This kind of money gets you a bed and a bathroom. Cheaper rooms usually do not have sheets, blankets or towels, which are provided at an extra cost."
And when eating out, the same rule applies as when you travel in other countries... try the local dishes to keep the cost down.
The prices in Nepal may have risen in the past years due to the influx of tourist who wanted to conquer the Himalayas but it still is one of the ultimate budget travel destination.
