Whether for business or leisure, I choose my hotels with 4 basic requirements in mind: Location, cleanliness, security and price. Should I have more than 1 hotel to consider, I then move to filter my choices with a different criteria -- the luxurious Extras the hotel can offer.

One of these extras which racks up points in my little hotel list is the availability of a hotel bar. Thing is, after a long day doing business, I prefer to not have to stray so far away just to get a small drink. Same whenever I travel for leisure. It's all a question of convenience. And taste. I wouldn't want to go to a seedy bar, no matter how convenient it is.

According to them, they "chose one hotel bar per city, places where the bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, where the bar is frequented by locals (a sure sign of quality), but where you won't find strobe lights or novelty drinks with glowing straws. The hotels themselves had to be located near the city's center and have several corporate clients."
