Air France to test use of Mobile Phones next year

Don't you just hate it when you are stuck with the incessant chatter of people on their mobile phones?

Imagine yourself stuck with a person (or worse, more) who just can't seem to stop talking on the phone. Imagine this happening on a semi-claustrophobic set-up with no other form of escape except for a few minutes' escape to the loo?

In March 2007, you need not imagine anymore. All you have to do is board an AirFrance flight within the EU and between France & Africa.

air france has announced that it will allow passengers to use their mobile phones as part of a commercial test. It will also allow passengers to use GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) phones and other GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) portable devices to send SMS (Short Message Service) messages, receive or send e-mail and surf the Internet using WAP (Wireless Access Protocol) and I-mode.

You definitely won't be seeing me book a flight on Air France next year.

What about YOU? Would you avoid Air France or would eagerly book a flight to Air France instead?
